You are correct in that the monopoly granted to "Nationally recognized" ratings agencies coupled with the dependence of those agencies on the issuers not the buyers of securities was always doomed.<br />We do seem to be at that point where the Monetarists, Keynesians, regulators and people of good will have created the perfect storm.<br />I don't know anybody who's trying to make money in this market, in any asset class.
