"The Intercept" (aptly named) originally consisted of the posts below with many reposts of articles and blogposts collected to share. They consist of stories that we thought were the most important and verifiable news/opinions at the time. </span><br style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;" /><br style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;" /><span style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;">There are also a number of original posts covering various topics we happened to be knee-deep in exploring. This collection was a hobby/habit of sharing what I learned and presenting in a news hub style format. Consider this blog like a "Wayback Machine" that preserves the more controversial articles (many long gone from their original sites) and compiles them in a way that serves as a snapshot of what was happening at the time. Bonus to whomever finds that post that had video of a witness to a false flag shooting that was cancelled by the local sheriff in California. That has mysteriously disappeared. </span><br style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;" /><br style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;" /><span style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;"> I learned a lot during this time and I hope there are some useful references for others.</span><br style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;" /><br style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;" /><span style="font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;"> Apologies in advance for any media that is missing due to its dependence on other sites. This included many youtubes and blip.tv vids.<br /><br />Note: Some have inquired about our site, americanterrorist.com, which explored the hypocrisies of the war on terror. A lot of the data was lost for that site after it was successfully hacked around the summer of 2016. We're in the process of redesigning the site and recovering the information. Just keep an eye on the url. </span></h3>Intercepthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03780885180607579873noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-595246785446634961.post-65436889020981574912013-01-14T16:14:00.002-08:002013-01-14T16:14:30.854-08:00New CIA Director John Brennan Cheers Torture<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

The
PLA aims to beef up its troops' combat readiness and prepare for actual
war situations through exercises this year, according to the latest
annual training directive, amid escalating tensions between China and
Japan over territorial disputes in the East China Sea.<br /><br />
"In 2013, the goal set for the entire army and the People's Armed
Police force is to bolster their capabilities to fight and their ability
to win a war … to be well-prepared for a war by subjecting the army to
hard and rigorous training on an actual combat basis," according to
yesterday's <i>People's Liberation Army Daily</i>, which referred to a training blueprint issued by the PLA's Department of the General Staff for the entire force.<br /><br />
The directive came in stark contrast to that of its predecessor. In
last year's directive, more emphasis was placed on joint military
trainings and co-ordination among different PLA services.<br /><br />
This year's statement stresses the urgency of real combat abilities
in all military training by repeating the phrase "fighting wars", or <i>dazhang</i>, as many as 10 times in the article, which was no more than 1,000 words. The phrase did not appear in last year's directive.<br /><br />
The changes could be a result of the rising tensions in waters
between China and Japan, while they might also indicate that there is a
different focus for the PLA, since the Central Military Commission's
chairman Hu Jintao was succeeded by Xi Jinping , the new PLA
commander-in-chief since November.<br /><br />
Separately, state broadcast media reported in the past week that the
PLA's naval air force kicked off the open-sea training portion of its
annual exercise programme. No details were given on the specific dates
or duration.<br /><br />
The General Staff department's training directive came a day after
Japan's Self-Defence Forces conducted a massive military exercise on
training grounds in Narashino, on the outskirts of Tokyo, on Sunday, in
which 20 aircraft, 300 personnel and 33 vehicles participated.<br /><br />
Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera issued a statement after
the drill insisting that Chinese ships had trespassed in "Japanese
waters" near the Senkaku Islands, which are known in China as the
Diaoyus, and that the security surrounding Japan was therefore being
tightened.<br /><br />
The disputed chain of islands in the East China Sea has been claimed by both China and Japan since the early 1970s.<br /><br />
Andrei Chang, editor-in-chief of the Canada-based <i>Kanwa Defence Review</i>,
said, "The PLA is making its propaganda voice louder this year, aside
from shifting their target to Japan instead of the Philippines last
year," adding the statement was more or less the same as last year's.<br />

The siege of Leningrad is still considered the most lethal siege in
world history, a shocking “racially motivated starvation policy”,
described as: “an integral part of Nazi policy in the Soviet Union
during World War 11.”<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.globalresearch.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Leningrad1.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="" class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-5318462" height="284" src="http://www.globalresearch.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Leningrad1-300x284.jpg" title="Æèòåëè áëîêàäíîãî Ëåíèíãðàäà âûõîäÿò èç áîìáîóáåæèùà" width="300" /></a>The
872 day siege began on 8th September 1941 and was finally broken on
27th January 1944. It is described as: “one of the longest and most
destructive sieges in history and overwhelmingly the most costly in
casualties.” Some historians cite it as a genocide. Due to record
keeping complexities the exact number of deaths resultant from the
blockade’s deprivations are uncertain, figures range from 632,000 to 1.5
million.<br />
<br />
Sieges now extend to entire countries, they have become the torture
before the destruction. And they are not counted in long days, but in
long years. Iran thirty three years, Iraq thirteen-plus years.
Ironically the disparity in the deaths in Iraq resultant from that
siege, mirror near exactly what was considered a “genocide” in
Leningrad.<br />
<br />
Syria has been subject to EU “restrictions” since 2011, ever more
strangulating, with near every kind of financial transaction made
impossible by May 2011- when “restrictions” were also placed on
President Assad himself, all senior government officials, senior
security and armed forces Heads. The list of that denied is dizzying
(i.) By February 2012, assets of individuals were frozen, as those of
the Central Bank of Syria.<br />
<br />
Cargo flights by Syrian carriers to the EU were also barred, as was
trade in gold, precious metals and diamonds – anything which might
translate in to hard cash, without which neither individuals or
countries can purchase the most basic essentials.<br />
By July 2012 Syrian Arab Airlines and even Syria’s Cotton Marketing Organisation had joined the EU’s victims.<br />
<br />
America of course, had been way ahead of the game, with the Syria
Accountability and Lebanese Sovereignty Act (ii) signed in to law on
12th December 2003, the year of Iraq’s comprehensive US-led destruction.
Thus the mighty USA’s personal siege on under twenty one million
people, is now entering its tenth year.<br />
<br />
By last August, as with Iraq before it, the inability to trade meant
that, as ever, the now Nobel Peace Prize winning EU and the policies of
the Nobel Peace Prize winning US President, were targeting Syria’s most
vulnerable.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Many pharmaceutical companies had closed, resulting in severe
shortages of medication for chronic diseases and the casualties of the
insurgency, according to the World Health Organisation (iii.) Prior to
the US-UK-EU-NATO supported insurgency, Syria had produced ninety
percent of its drugs and medication needs.<br />
<br />
However : “ … production has been hit by the fighting, lack of raw
materials, impact of sanctions and higher fuel costs.” Further, near all
pharmaceutical plants were located in areas of heaviest fighting,
Aleppo, Homs and Damascus provinces and have suffered “substantial
damage.” The result is: “a critical shortage of medicines”, according to
WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic.<br />
<br />
<div style="padding-left: 30px;">
“Drugs for tuberculosis, hepatitis,
hypertension, diabetes and cancer are urgently needed, as well as
haemodialysis for kidney diseases.”</div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px;">
<br /></div>
<a href="http://www.globalresearch.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/syria-destruction-war04.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="" class="size-medium wp-image-5318463 alignright" height="199" src="http://www.globalresearch.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/syria-destruction-war04-300x199.jpg" title="Mideast Syria" width="300" /></a>Health centres have closed due to violence, damage, or being taken over by the Western backed fighters. (image: Homs, 2012)<br />
“The health facilities that have stopped functioning are located in
the most affected areas where the urgent need for medical and surgical
interventions is the most prominent,” Jasarevic said.<br />
<br />
The Syrian Health Ministry reported that it “lost” – stolen or
destroyed – two hundred ambulances in a few weeks through June and early
August 2012.<br />
<br />
Banks run out of cash and the 2012 wheat harvest is likely to have
been wrecked because of the shortage of labour, according to U.N.
agencies. In the Middle East bread is still truly the “staff of life.”
The all mirrors Iraq, even down to the wheat harvest – in Iraq those
bombing the country over thirteen years until the invasion, dropped
flares on the harvested wheat and grains, reducing tentative bread
security to ashes.<br />
<br />
Syria struggles to meet it’s annual grain imports of around four
million tons, because of a superb sleight of hand by the siege imposers.
Essential foods are exempt from sanctions, but moneys are frozen, thus
the wherewithal to trade. The country is ever potentially hours away
from a bread crisis.<br />
<br />
In 2011 Syria’s own harvest was hit by blight, water shortages and
conflict. In December 2012 Iran sent consignments of flour to Syria,
temporarily easing the bread crisis, but the siege under which Iran
struggles is also of enormity – and shamefully under reported in the
West.<br />
<br />
As Iran shipped flour to Syria, Iran’s Health Ministry was
approaching India for a life saving list of denied medications, for the
most critical conditions in patients. Vital items denied included:
“drugs to treat lung and breast cancers; brain tumours; heart ailments;
infections after kidney, heart and pancreas transplants; meningitis in
HIV patients; arthritis; bronchitis and respiratory distress in
newborns; and epilepsy.” (iv)<br />
<br />
And here again is that sleight of hand: “Although trade in medicine
is exempt from international sanctions imposed by the UN Security
Council and the unilateral sanctions announced by the US and EU, Western
banks have been declining to handle transactions.” (Emphasis mine.)<br />
<br />
Targeting the sick is the action of the criminally insane. For
targeting the newborn surely no expression has been conceived, except by
Madeleine Albright when referring to Iraq’s sanctions related, half
million child deaths: “ … we think the price is worth it.” It was not a
slip of the tongue, it was clearly to be the New World Order.<br />
<br />
This partial list of medications unobtainable by Iran should be put
on a wall of shame in Washington and all those Nobel winning EU capitol
cities:<br />
<blockquote>
“Denied include chemotherapy; drugs used to prevent
infections in kidney, heart and pancreas transplant patients and in AIDS
treatment. Treatments for colon cancer; cell lung cancer; cancerous
brain tumours; chemotherapy drugs for lung, ovarian and testicular
cancer; treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphona.”</blockquote>
Also: “treatment for breast cancer therapy; a range of chemotherapy
drugs; treatment for life threatening recurring heart conditions;
specific meningitis treatments; drugs for respiratory distress in the
new born; anti-convulsion treatments for epileptic seizures; wide
spectrum treatment for heart ailments.”<br />
Additionally:<br />
<blockquote>
“Nitroglycerine for angina and coronary artery disease;
treatment for septicaemia and bacterial meningitis; medication to reduce
risk of premature birth; treatments for acute bronchitis, pneumonia,
bone infections, gynaecological infections and those of urinary tract.”</blockquote>
Nimidopine which reduces the risk of damage after bleeding inside the
head, is also on the list. How fortunate Madam Clinton did not suffer
her alleged brain-adjacent clot in Iran.<br />
<br />
Last October Iran’s Head of The Foundation for Special Diseases,
Fatemeh Hashemi, stated that six million patients were potentially at
risk as a result of sanctioned medications (v.) A holocaust for-warned –
and met by that murderous “international community” with near silence.<br />
<br />
Mehrnaz Shahabi (vi) also encapsulates the captives in this Age of the Siege:<br />
<blockquote>
“Iran (made) ninety seven percent of its needed drugs
domestically … The devalued currency means that raw materials imported
for drug production are now a lot more expensive.<br />
<br />
“In many cases, the raw material cannot even be paid for because of
the banking sanctions, particularly as the Society for Worldwide
Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) in compliance with the EU
sanctions, has stopped its electronic communication services for Iranian
financial institutions and transactions from Iran.”</blockquote>
Thus, as Syria, domestically produced drugs are near unavailable.<br />
<br />
Additionally: “The most advanced life-saving drugs cannot be made in
generic form.These include drugs for heart disease, lung problems,
kidney disease and dialysis, multiple sclerosis, thalassaemia,
haemophilia and many forms of cancer.”<br />
<br />
Cancers in Iran have soared and a “cancer tsumani” is predicted by
2015. Since Iran borders and breathes the same air as Iraq, it would not
be unreasonable to assume that as Iran is punished for its nuclear
industry, America and Britain’s, in the form of the depleted uranium
weapons used in Iraq, bears some responsibility for another health
tragedy of enormity.<br />
<blockquote>
“All of the surgeries for thousands of haemophilic
patients have been cancelled because a shortage of coagulant drugs. A
15-year-old child died at the end of October due to the absence of
coagulant medication. The head of Iran’s Hemophilia Society has said,
stating: ‘This is a blatant hostage-taking of the most vulnerable people
by countries which claim they care about human rights. Even a few days
of delay can have serious consequences like hemorrhage and disability.’ ”</blockquote>
As the New Year was celebrated across Europe and the “Land of the
Free”, the Syrian Upper Mesopotamia Archbishop, Jaques Behnan Hindo, was
writing an urgent appeal to the Presidency of the United Nations Food
and Agriculture Organisation.<br />
<br />
In a situation which he warned: “could soon become catastrophic”, he
said supply routes were halted and: “every economic activity appears
paralyzed (causing) depletion of vital goods, and soaring prices.<br />
<blockquote>
“The lack of fuel prevents heating homes and leads to the
complete closure of all agricultural activities, just as the planting
season begins.<br />
<br />
“The grain silos were looted and wheat was sold to Turkish traders
who conveyed it in Turkey, under the gaze of the Turkish customs
officers.”</blockquote>
It is impossible not to reflect that NATO ally Turkey is the equivalent of the bombing flame droppers on the Iraqi harvests.<br />
<br />
In addition to the plundered, grain, the Archbishop denounced the
gradual disappearance of other vital products including, as Iraq, baby
milk.<br />
<br />
Archbishop Hindo also sent an appeal to Iraq’s Prime Minister Nuri
al-Maliki: “Please help us as quickly as possible, by sending 600 fuel
tanks, 300 tanks of gasoline and some tons of flour.<br />
<br />
“The first victims are the children. You experience in your body, in
your soul – and in the children all the injustice”, caused by draconian,
life threatening, illegal, collective punishment on a nation’s people,
yet again starting with the unborn, the newborn, and the barely

At the end of WW11, Leningrad (now Saint Petersberg) was awarded the
status of Hero City for collective unwavering courage, resistance and
inventiveness under Nazi atrocities.<br />
The world is surely in need of the status of Hero Country for those
who exhibit the same courageous qualities against those nations who
emulate the same atrocities.<br />

Editor's Note:<br />
<br />
<i>“While it sounds like an outrageous claim, one is left to inquire whether the Sandy Hook shooting ever took place—at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation’s news media have described.”</i><br />
Anderson Cooper jumps on this portion of the sentence:<br />
<br />
<i>“While it sounds like an outrageous claim, one is left to inquire whether the Sandy Hook shooting ever took place—"</i><br />
<i> </i> <br />
before the following qualifying prep:<i><br />
<br />
"</i><i>at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation’s news media have described.”<br />
<br />
</i>This is intended to milk a reaction of outrage from his audience. <br />
<br />
Mr. Cooper doesn't quite know who he's messing with. Personally, I
would not want to go toe-to-toe with Professor James Tracy. I've read
his past work and he is one of the sharper knives in the drawer.
Anderson had to use a deceptive excerpt out of context in order for
people to buy his fake righteous indignation. <br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.thedailybell.com/28573/Professors-Questions-About-Sandy-Hook-Shooting-Recall-Columbine-Massacre">The Daily Bell</a><br />

<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="244" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rZxL4U-8r2Y?feature=player_embedded" width="400"></iframe><br />
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<br />
<i>Believe it or not, there are actually people out there who are
convinced that last month's horrific shooting in Newtown, Connecticut
was staged. Anderson Cooper opened his show tonight taking on these <a href="http://www.thedailybell.com/floatWindow.cfm?id=1967" rel="shadowbox;type=iframe;width=800;height=500;">conspiracy theorists</a>.
He said that ordinarily, he wouldn't give much thought to insane
conspiracies, but one of the people pushing them is a Florida professor
who raises doubts as to whether the shooting "ever took place" in the
way that the media described, and the whole thing was just a huge
conspiracy to get the country behind gun control. And as if that wasn't
unbelievable enough, he also suspects that some of the parents of the
children were really actors. – Mediaite.com</i><br />
<br />
<b>Dominant Social Theme:</b> Sandy Hook conspiracy theories are appalling and outrageous.<br />
<br />
<b>Free-Market Analysis:</b> A recent <a href="http://www.thedailybell.com/floatWindow.cfm?id=2607" rel="shadowbox;type=iframe;width=800;height=500;">CNN</a>/Anderson
Cooper "Keeping Them Honest" segment focused on a media professor,
James Tracy, who has publicly claimed that the Sandy Hook shootings "may
not have happened at all, at least ... the way they have been
described."<br />
An article by the <i>Sun Sentinel</i> describes the Tracy controversy as follows:<br />
<br />
<i>FAU prof stirs controversy by disputing Newtown massacre ... A
communication professor known for conspiracy theories has stirred
controversy at Florida Atlantic University with claims that last month's
Newtown, Conn., school shootings did not happen as reported — or may
not have happened at all.</i><br />
<br />
<i>Moreover, James Tracy asserts in radio interviews and on his
memoryholeblog.com, that trained "crisis actors" may have been employed
by the <a href="http://www.thedailybell.com/floatWindow.cfm?id=2384" rel="shadowbox;type=iframe;width=800;height=500;">Obama</a> administration in an effort to shape public opinion in favor of the event's true purpose: gun control.</i><br />
<br />
<i>... In one of his blog posts, "The Sandy Hook School Massacre:
Unanswered Questions and Missing Information," Tracy cites several
sources for his skepticism, including lack of surveillance video or
still images from the scene, the halting performance of the medical
examiner at a news conference, timeline confusion, and how the accused
shooter was able to fire so many shots in just minutes ...</i><br />
<br />
<i>Tracy said also has doubts about the official version of the
Kennedy assassination, the Oklahoma City bombing, the 9-11 terror
attacks and the Aurora, Colo., theater murders.</i><br />
<i>"I describe myself as a scholar and public intellectual," he
said, "interested in going more deeply into controversial public events.
Although some may see [my theories] as beyond the pale, I am doing what
we should be doing as academics."</i><br />
<br />
Cooper is at his silky best in this segment, blasting away at the
professor's theories and even implying that he ought to be fired for
voicing such an opinion.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
The program made attempts to get Tracy on air but the professor
(perhaps wisely) declined. He did issue a nuanced apology in which he
voiced regret that he had added to any family's pain with his views but
he didn't retract his opinion that there was more to the Sandy Hook
shootings than had been reported.<br />
<br />
And while Anderson Cooper and CNN (and others) may find it
"outrageous" for someone to state that professional reporting was
inadequate in such cases, the case of the Columbine High School
shootings provides us with a stubborn rebuttal to the idea that the <a href="http://www.thedailybell.com/floatWindow.cfm?id=1861" rel="shadowbox;type=iframe;width=800;height=500;">mainstream press</a> always reports adequately in such situations.<br />
<br />
Two individuals – Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17 – were said
to be responsible for the horrible shootings at Columbine High School
outside Littleton, Colorado, on April 20, 1999, leaving 15 dead and 23
wounded. But as we've reported before, there are at least 100 reports of
eyewitnesses claiming to see more shooters and others generally beyond
the two young suspects that later supposedly committed suicide at the
scene.<br />
<br />
You can see a summary of these reports at <a href="http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/columbineeight.php" target="_blank">Whatreallyhappened.com</a>.<br />
<br />
These summaries are cited in hundreds if not thousands of posts on the Internet and on such <a href="http://www.thedailybell.com/floatWindow.cfm?id=723" rel="shadowbox;type=iframe;width=800;height=500;">alternative media</a>
Web sites at Infowars. Below is a sampling; while the provenance of
these reports is not always clear, the sheer number of them and the
detail certainly warrant further investigation.<br />
<br />
But that's not going to come from CNN or Anderson Cooper. He's too
busy "debunking" the idea that mainstream reporting ever gets it wrong
or that such massacres might not have been adequately explained.<br />
<br />
<i>Columbine: 101 witnesses can't be wrong </i><br />
<br />
<i>According to the final report of the investigation, only two
people--Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17--planned and executed the
mass shooting at Columbine High School outside Littleton, Colorado, on
April 20, 1999, leaving 15 dead and 23 wounded. But at least 101 eye-
and ear- witnesses remembered it differently: </i><br />
<br />
<i>1) Chris Wisher, sophomore (1261) He turned and saw two guys
carrying shotguns, and wearing black trench coats. A 3rd guy wearing a
white T-shirt and jeans was seen throwing bombs onto the roof. </i><br />
<br />
<i>2) Jake Apodaca, sophomore (653) He was at the soccer field,
heard firecrackers. He turned and saw two guys carrying shotguns,
wearing black trench coats and black T-shirts. A 3rd guy wearing a white
T-shirt and jeans was seen throwing bombs onto the roof. </i><br />
<i>3) Jonathan Cole, freshman (749) He noticed two tall guys in
black trench coats. He then saw a third male, wearing a white T-shirt
and blue jeans. This person looked over to the other two suspect, and
yelled "GO!! GO!!". </i><br />
<br />
<i>4) William Arapkiles, freshman (660) He states that he was at the
soccer field, and heard firecrackers. He turned and saw 3 people near
the West entrance. Two were wearing black trench coats, and carrying
guns. The third was wearing a white T-shirt, and no visible gun. The
person in the white T-shirt was pacing back and forth about 5' away from
the two gunmen. </i><br />
<br />
<i>5) Channel 7 News at 12pm(noon) on 4-20 (EP 21-244) "Reporter
said that numerous witnesses he spoke to who were not named said they
saw 3 gunmen." </i><br />
<br />
<i>6) Lindsay Elmore, junior (332)"I believe there were 3 gunmen."
(340) "...there was so much movement that Elmore thought there was more
than two people." </i><br />
<br />
<i>7) ACSO Nelson (8810) "... a list of 3 names that the 12
witnesses ID'd from a yearbook were turned over to ACSO investigators to
forward." </i><br />
<br />
<i>8) Jason Baer, sophomore (1759) Hid in greenroom off science hall
"I heard more than two people yelling to each other saying 'over here'
and stuff." </i><br />
<br />
<i>9) Anthony Sammauro, freshman (5071) "Tony stated that two suspects came in the front door and one came in the side door." </i><br />
<br />
<i>10) Erik Sunde, freshman (4576) Saw two gunmen downstairs near
cafeteria, runs upstairs and sees another person in trenchcoat in front
of library doors. </i><br />

The conference highlighted the necessity for Fusion Centers to achieve
Baseline Capabilities in the sharing of information and intelligence
with the federal government and each other.</i><br />
<br />
<i>At the end of the same month the <a href="http://dimacs.rutgers.edu/pressreleaseD%20...%20-31-09.pdf">DHS gave a press release </a>[2] to announce their selection of Purdue, and Rutgers Universities to co-lead the newest <b>Center of Excellence</b> (COE).</i><br />
<br />
<b>Centers of Excellence</b> were created through the
Homeland Security Act of 2002; the first centers began operation in
2004. With the addition of the newest one above, there are a total of 12
Centers across the country. The total number of these centers is
skewed; as each center is in collaboration with multiple universities;
as well as being partners with local, state, federal, and international
entities. These COE’s also work with national laboratories, and
corporate partners such as the RAND corporation to offer viable real
world applications. In the end, there aren’t 12 centers, but a web of
several hundred, and possibly thousands of centers.<br />
<br />
<div>
<a href="http://www.dhs.gov/files/programs/editorial_0498.shtm">The official list[3] of 12 centers </a>are overseen by the Orwellian <a href="http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/editorial_0555.shtm">“Office of University Programs”</a> [4]. The “Strategic Objectives” of this office are quoted as follows:<br />
<ul>
<li> Foster a homeland security culture within the academic community through research and educational programs.</li>
<li> Strengthen U.S. scientific leadership in homeland security research.</li>
<li> Generate and disseminate knowledge and technical advances to advance the homeland security mission.</li>
<li> Integrate homeland security activities across agencies engaged in relevant academic research.</li>
<li> Create and leverage intellectual capital and nurture a homeland security science and engineering workforce.</li>
</ul>
Notice, their admitted overall goal is not only to ‘disseminate
knowledge’ and technical advances for the homeland security ‘mission’,
but also to create a <b>Homeland Security Culture</b> within the educational system; [5], 6].<br />
<br />
Each COE website[3] has an education link; not all sites have their
educational portion up for viewing. The ones who do have the educational
curricula visible, show programs offered for K-12 and college
curricula, into graduate school education. From <a href="http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/vac%20...%20career.php">Purdue University’s COE website</a> [7],<br />
<blockquote>
“This program is designed to support undergraduate and
graduate students in developing the skills to become preeminent
scientists in the homeland security specific and technical community.”</blockquote>
The Orwellian Office of University Programs, is not only creating “Obama’s Youth”, but also creating “<i>scientists” </i>who are studied in Department of Homeland Security disciplines!<br />
<br />
Two Centers of Excellence stood out from the rest. The first, is <b><a href="http://www.start.umd.edu/start/">Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism</a> </b>[8], or START which is based at the University of Maryland.<br />
<br />
Amongst other activities, they do as the name suggests; they create
studies. Hidden amongst the Islamic Jihad studies[9] were the reports of
the real terrorists; you, and I!<br />
<br />
Two reports stuck out more than the rest. The first was a study
conducted from 2007 to 2008, and finished with the creation of the U.S.
Extremist Criminal Terror database[10]. The study, and now database
focus on far-right extremists; the data base of U.S. Extremist Crime,
comprises 1990 to 2005.<br />
<br />
The other study of interest was,<a href="http://www.start.umd.edu/start/research%20...%20.asp?id=45">“<b>Homegrown Radicalization and the Role of Social Networks and Social Inclusiveness in the United States”</b></a>[11].
There is no finished report of this study. The last update was, July
31, 2008. It seems this study is the one requested through The Homegrown
Terrorism Prevention Act (H.R. 1955/S. 1959)[12] “The act would
establish a national commission and a university-based “Center for
Excellence” to study and propose legislation to prevent the threat of
“radicalization” of Americans.” Interestingly enough, just a few months
after the final START study update on July 31, 2008, the DHS released,
The “Domestic Extremism Lexicon”[13]. This Lexicon was a “newly
unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the
possibility of violence by unnamed “right-wing extremists” concerned
about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on
firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out
returning war veterans as particular threats.”[14] All this came from
the START Center of Excellence!<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Most interesting of all these Centers of Excellence, is the newest
one; which was awarded to Purdue, and Rutger Universities. It’s the
Center of Excellence in Command, Control and Interoperability (C2L).
There are direct links to both the Rutgers, and part of the Purdue
websites from the DHS official list[3]. The link for Purdue goes to
PURVAC; which is the <a href="ttps://engineering.purdue.edu/PURVAC/">Purdue University Regional Visualization, and Analytics Center</a>[15]. It is labeled at the bottom as a Center of Excellence, but not the C2L website.<br />
<br />
After a little hunting around, and *no* direct links from PURVAC, I
was able to come across the official Command, Control, and
Interoperability(C2L) website.<br />
<br />
VACCINE: <b>“<a href="http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/vaccine/">Visual Analytics for Command, Control, and Interoperability Environments,</a>“</b> is the C2L Center of Excellence[16]. The stated goal is,<br />
<blockquote>
“To help the 2.3 million DHS personal by turning massive
data into actionable knowledge through innovative visual analytic
techniques is vital to the mission of the Command, Control, and
Interoperability (CCI) Division of The Department of Homeland Security,
as well as all of the mission areas of DHS.”</blockquote>
They’ve got some catchy informational research projects, such as
Jigsaw, Panviz, and a host of others; which all culminate to what
appears as the solution sought by the DHS Fusion Center Conference in
March[1]. It seems like VACCINE is the answer to culminating all the
Centers of Excellence, and the Fusion Centers into the next generation; a
cure for the 21st century American. Focused on culminating, and
disseminating information through all phases of life, and government;
from childhood to adulthood. YOU will comply.<br />
<br />
In learning about the 12 Centers of Excellence; there seems to be a
jaded, and deliberately hidden nature about them. The problem with this
is that continually when reading through all the COE websites, there
were two aspects that really stuck out.<br />
<br />
The first was a concentration on education beginning at Kindergarten,
and the overall presentation of what is to be taught, is of a hidden
nature. Secondly, is the fact that even though the information is hidden
for our benefit; so as to keep it a secret from “We The Terrorists”, I
noticed that in every single COE website, the partners included foreign
countries, and multi national corporations. It’s okay for foreign
countries, global corporations, and agents there of, to know what is
being taught to the 21th century American, but not okay for “We The
People” to know.<br />
<br />
This investigation yielded massive amounts of information; which had
no ends. The information shows the US Government, dancing around it’s
true intentions with “powder puffing” a monster. These 12 Centers of
Excellence headed by the DHS Office of University Programs, is not all
there are. The rabbit hole opens to another 106 universities[17], and
the accompanying affiliations with multiple universities, foreign
countries, stake holders, and private corporation partners; sponsored by
a joint program between the National Security Agency/Central Security
Service, and the Department of Homeland Security. These are not just DHS
centers of excellence, but are as follows:<br />
<blockquote>
“The National Centers of Academic Excellence in
Information Assurance Education (CAEIAE) and the CAE-Research (CAE-R)
are outreach programs designed and operated initially by the National
Security Agency (NSA) in the spirit of Presidential Decision Directive
63, National Policy on Critical Infrastructure Protection, May 1998. The
NSA and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in support of the
President’s National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, February 2003, now
jointly sponsor the program. The goal of the program is to reduce
vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting
higher education in information assurance (IA), and producing a growing
number of professionals with IA expertise in various disciplines. ”[18]</blockquote>
Simply they are the same as the COE’s, but with more agencies
involved, and just another way to cover government outcome based
education through ‘spookier’ means. They are to create more homeland
security molded, subservient 21st century citizens. Interestingly enough
both the CAEIAE schools[19], and the COE schools have to meet
requirements set forth by private foundations. <br />
<br />
Another point of interest
regarding these CAEIAE schools is they are usually located so as to
permit easy access to DoD installations, federal research centers, and
other agency facilities.<br />
<br />
These universities, and their disseminated information are not just a
national problem for Americans, but the entire world. They are creating
educational programs from kindergarten, and they are partnered with
several foreign countries. It’s seemingly more, and more a 1984
Orwellian hell of reality, that Americans are being made into a “new
breed”; now with the words of Patrick Henry:<br />
<br />
<div style="padding-left: 30px;">
<i>“Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?</i></div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px;">
<i>Forbid it, Almighty God!</i></div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px;">
<i>I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”</i></div>

<br />
Americans die younger and have more illnesses and accidents on
average than people in other high-income countries—even wealthier,
insured, college-educated Americans, a report said Wednesday.<br />
<br />
The study by the federally sponsored National Research Council and
Institute of Medicine found the U.S. near the bottom of 17 affluent
countries for life expectancy, with high rates of obesity and diabetes,
heart disease, chronic lung disease and arthritis, as well as infant
mortality, injuries, homicides, teen pregnancy, drug deaths and sexually
transmitted diseases.<br />
<br />
"The [U.S.] health disadvantage is pervasive—it affects all age
groups up to age 75 and is observed for multiple diseases, biological
and behavioral risk factors, and injuries," said the report's authors,
who are public-health and medicine academics recruited by the government
panels.<br />
<br />
The shorter life expectancy for Americans largely was attributed to
high mortality for men under age 50, from car crashes, accidents and
violence. But the report also said U.S. women's gains in life expectancy
had been lagging behind other well-off countries.<br />
<br />
The authors offered a range of possible explanations for Americans'
worse health and mortality, including social inequality. They also
described criticisms including limited availability of contraception for
teenagers, community designs that discourage physical activity such as
walking, air pollution and access to firearms, as well as individual
behaviors such as high calorie consumption.<br />
The U.S. health-care system wasn't spared criticism, with authors
describing it as fragmented, lacking sufficient primary-care physicians
and posing financial barriers to millions of Americans who lack
insurance or are unable to afford out-of-pocket medical costs.<br />
<br />
But the chairman of the panel of authors, Steven Woolf, a professor
of family medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University, said the report
showed that health outcomes were determined "by much more than health
care."<br />
<br />
"Our health as Americans is only partly aided by having a very good
health-care system," he said. "Much of our health disadvantage comes
from factors outside of the clinical system and outside of what doctors
and hospitals can do."<br />
<br />
The Obama administration has aimed to improve Americans' health by
expanding insurance coverage through the 2010 Affordable Care Act, while
Republicans have pushed for giving the private sector a greater role in
managing health care through changes to such programs as Medicare.<br />
<br />
Public health has received relatively little attention from
lawmakers, despite campaigns by high-profile figures such as first lady
Michelle Obama on childhood obesity and New York City Mayor Michael
Bloomberg on smoking, gun control and the sale of high-calorie
beverages.<br />
<br />
"The political environment on health is so wrapped up right now
around implementation of health reform that we need to have the space to
have this larger conversation and for people to understand that having
health insurance is necessary but not sufficient to close this gap,"
said Jeff Levi, head of the Trust for America's Health, a public health
advocacy group. He wasn't involved in the study.<br />
<br />
The new report noted that average life expectancy for American men,
at 75.6 years, was the lowest among the 17 countries and almost four
years shorter than for Switzerland, the best-performing nation.<br />
<br />
American women's average life expectancy, 80.8 years, was
second-lowest among the countries and five years shorter than Japan's,
which had the highest expectancy.<br />
The report's authors were particularly critical of the availability
of guns, writing: "One behavior that probably explains the excess
lethality of violence and unintentional injuries in the United States is
the widespread possession of firearms and the common practice of
storing them [often unlocked] at home."<br />
<br />
The authors noted that Americans who lived past age 75 had higher
survival rates compared with similar countries, and Americans overall
had better rates of surviving cancer and strokes. They also said the
U.S. better controls high blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking rates and
use of alcohol than many other nations.<br />
<br />
The report didn't directly consider U.S. health in the context of
spending on care, but noted that America's low outcomes were striking
given that U.S. per capita health spending exceeds that of other
countries.<br />

<br />
A federal judge has rejected an attempt by the Obama administration to
use secret evidence to derail a former Stanford student's attempt to
challenge her inclusion on the government's no-fly list, <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Secret-no-fly-evidence-rejected-by-judge-4180923.php#ixzz2Haz850eN">Bob Egelko of The San Francisco Chronicle reports</a>.<br />
<br />
In 2005 officials detained <span>Rahinah </span>Ibrahim when she
attempted to fly from San Francisco International Airport to her native
Malaysia. The then-Standford doctoral student and her 14-year-old
daughter were allowed to take a flight the next day but were not allowed
to return to the U.S. two months later.<br />
<br />
The U.S. Consulate later informed her that <strong>her student visa had been revoked under a terrorism law</strong>, according to <span>Egelko</span>.<br />
<br />
<span>In 2009 Ibrahim</span> settled claims against police and others
involved in her arrest for $225,000, but brought a new suit because her
inclusion on the no-fly list has barred her and her daughter from
returning to the U.S. for nearly eight years. (<span>Ibrahim has four children.)</span><br />
<br />
<strong>The government argues that it cannot discuss its no-fly list
because it would "reveal or tend to reveal information that is
classified."</strong><br />
<br />
Consequently the Justice Department called District Judge William
Alsup and said an agent would bring him evidence for dismissal of the
suit but would take it back because <span>Ibrahim's counsel couldn't be "trusted to handle sensitive information."</span><br />

Alsup — who had actually dismissed Ibrahim's case twice before but was overruled on appeals — <strong>refused to see the secret evidence</strong> and scheduled the trial for December.<br />

The judge added that the government must stop "persistent and

<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Was there ever a government quango quite so useless as the Met Office? </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">From
its infamous ‘barbecue summer’ washout of 2009 to the snowbound winter
it failed to predict in 2010 and the recent forecast-defying floods, our
£200 million-a-year official weather forecaster has become a national
joke.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">But of all its recent embarrassments, none come close to matching the Met Office’s latest one. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Without
fanfare — apparently in the desperate hope no one would notice — it has
finally conceded what other scientists have known for ages: there is no
evidence that ‘global warming’ is happening.</span><br />

Island in Canada. The Met Office has conceded <br />

'global warming' is happening</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The Met Office quietly readjusted its temperature projections on its website on Christmas Eve. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Until
then, it had been confidently predicting temperature rises of at least
0.2 degrees per decade, with a succession of years exceeding even the
record-breaking high of 1998.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Its
latest chart, however, confirmed in a press release earlier this week,
tells a very different story: no more global warming is expected till at
least 2017. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">According
to Dr David Whitehouse of the independent think-tank the Global Warming
Policy Foundation, the climbdown couldn’t be more dramatic or more
devastating for the Met Office’s credibility. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">‘They’re
panicking. All the predictions they’ve been making about man-made
global warming these past 20 years have started to come crashing about
their ears.’</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">For two
decades the Met Office has acted as Britain’s foremost cheerleader for
climate change alarmism. In 2007, its Hadley Centre for climate change
research produced a briefing document for the Government claiming its
state-of-the-art computer models left no doubt: man-made global warming
was a very real threat which needed to be addressed urgently by
policy-makers.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">‘The Met
Office Hadley Centre has the highest concentration of outstanding people
who do outstanding work, spanning the breadth of modelling,
attribution, and date analysis, of anywhere in the world,’ claimed an
expert from the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) in the
document.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="relatedItemsTopBorder">
</div>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Many in the Government were impressed for, a year later, the 2008 Climate Change Act was passed by an overwhelming majority. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The
act has been described by veteran journalist Christopher Booker as the
most expensive legislation in history, committing the government to as
much as £734 billion (£18.3 billion a year for the next 40 years) in
extra spending to ‘decarbonise’ the economy. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">It is also one of the reasons why our countryside is being ruined by ugly, noisy wind turbines.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">But what if carbon dioxide isn’t the culprit for global temperature changes? </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">What
if all the expensive, economy-ravaging, job-killing, environmentally
destructive measures we’ve taken have been a spectacular waste of money?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">
If so, the Met Office will be attacked for being not just risibly
incompetent — but an active menace both to the integrity of science and
to the nation’s wellbeing.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Hence its defiant attempts to argue that nothing has changed and it’s business as usual. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><a name='more'></a><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">‘The
fact the new model predicts less warming, globally, for the coming five
years does not necessarily tell us anything about long-term predictions
of climate change for the coming century,’ it claimed yesterday. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">In
other words: ‘Never mind that global warming stopped in 1997. It will
come back with a vengeance one day. We’re just not quite so sure when.’</span><br />

<div class="imageCaption">
<br /></div>
</div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">This latest embarrassment comes
just days after the Met Office was lambasted for yet another misleading
claim, about the recent flooding. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">It
said this is part of a growing national trend towards ‘extreme’ weather
— as also heavily promoted by the BBC’s Environmental Analyst Roger
Harrabin, and by scaremongering documentaries such as Channel 4’s Is Our
Weather Getting Worse?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">According to the Met, Britain is apparently experiencing more rain by volume and intensity. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">‘We
have always seen a great deal of variability in UK extreme rainfall
because our weather patterns are constantly changing, but this analysis
suggests we are seeing a shift in our rainfall behaviour,’ said the Met
Office’s top scientist, Professor Julia Slingo.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">‘There’s
evidence to say we are getting slightly more rain in total, but more
importantly it may be falling in more intense bursts — which can
increase the risk of flooding.’</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">But these claims appeared to be at best a dangerous fudge, at worst a complete nonsense. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">As
is clear from the Met Office’s own data — the England and Wales
precipitation records dating back to 1766 — there has been nothing
particularly abnormal about the recent rain. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Not
only were there two years, 1872 and 1768, wetter than the supposed
record-breaking year of 2012; but also, the Met Office appeared to have
overlooked two very dry years (2003 and 2011) to prove its narrative
that the past ten years have been the ‘wettest decade ever’.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The
Global Warming Policy Foundation’s Dr David Whitehouse believes the
very notion of ‘extreme’ weather is an unscientific nonsense. ‘If you
were to pick any period in history, you would soon find an example of an
unusual weather event — maybe a heatwave in Russia or fires in
Australia. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>

</tbody></table>
<div class="artSplitter">
<div class="imageCaption">
<br /></div>
</div>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">‘Somewhere in the world, a
weather record is being broken almost every day. This is normal. What’s
not normal is when people try to impose on it some kind of invented
trend.’</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">This is what
happened just yesterday, when the scorching Australian heatwave that has
caused bushfires was linked in both The Guardian and The Independent to
global warming.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The Met
Office has subscribed to this sort of stance since at least 1990, when
it became politicised under its then director John Houghton — the
fanatical believer in the great global warming religion, who was also
responsible for setting up the IPCC. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Under
Houghton’s stewardship, it became an article of faith that not only was
man-made global warming real and dangerous, but that it was the primary
job of the Met Office to spread the alarmist gospel.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Dr
Whitehouse notes that this is a sad betrayal of the Met Office’s
traditional role: ‘When it comes to four or five-day weather
forecasting, the Met Office is the best in the world,’ he says. ‘The
tragedy is that, for the most part, the Met Office thinks weather
forecasting is beneath it. Climate change is more glamorous — and brings
in more money.’</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">And the
Met Office’s obsession with climate change has wreaked havoc with its
medium to long-term forecasting. That infamous ‘barbecue summer’ and its
inability to foresee last November’s floods were the result of the same
major flaw in its system: its computer models are all programmed on the
assumption that as global CO2 levels increase, so will global warming.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">This means they’re continually predicting warmer weather, in contradiction of all the real world evidence.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">For
two decades, the Met Office has abused its position of trust, authority
and taxpayer-funded privilege to promote green ideology at the expense
of scientific integrity. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Never
mind the mere £200 million we pay a year to fund the Met Office’s
dodgy, Mystic Meg prognostications: the real bill for its incompetence
runs into the billions. </span><br />

with readers is that many have political, social, economic, or
ideological agendas. </i><br />
<br />
<i>They read in order to confirm their beliefs and agendas. Neither
the right-wing nor the left-wing can escape their ideological boxes and
are creatures of their biases. They want their prejudices vindicated and
their beliefs supported.</i><br />
<br />
<i>A writer who tells them something that they do not want to hear receives abuse.</i><br />
<br />
<i>These readers cannot benefit from facts and new information and
change their minds. Truth is what validates their prejudices, biases, or
their programing. Objective truth is not the matrix in which they live.</i><br />
<br />
If a writer makes a case so clear that readers simply cannot avoid
it, the reader will intentionally misread the article or book and attack
the writer for saying everything that he does not say. The chorus will
join in the effort to shut down the unwelcome information before it
reaches others.<br />
<br />
The Israel Lobby uses the technique of branding everyone who
criticizes, no matter how constructively and moderately, any Israeli
government policy, no matter how egregious, an anti-semite. The Israeli
government applies this tactic to its own Israeli political opposition
and to Jews themselves who are branded “self-hating Jews” if they
criticize government policy toward the Palestinians. The effect is to
deprive the Israeli government of constructive criticism. Only the
Israel Lobby could call former President Jimmy Carter an anti-semite.
Anyone who is not totally enthusiastic about Israel’s theft of
Palestinian lives and properties is an enemy of Israel. These wild
accusations from the Israel Lobby deprive anti-semite of any meaning.
Essentially, every moral person has become an anti-semite. The Israeli
government has simply cut itself off from truth.<br />
<br />
The identical hardline substitution of self-interest for factual
reality characterizes the American right and left. The right-wing
insists that America is going broke because of welfare spending. The
left-wing persists in its belief that government is capable of great
good if only the right people are in power and that social institutions,
such as religion, and inanimate objects, such as guns, are responsible
for human evil.<br />
<br />
If a majority of Americans sought objective truth instead of
confirmation of their beliefs, truth could prevail over special
interests. Reality would inform social, political, and economic life,
and American prospects would be good. But when a majority are hostile to
facts and truths that do not support their biases and serve their
interests, there is a disconnect from reality, which is the situation in
America today.<br />
<br />
It is ironic that the left-wing, which has a large repertoire of
tales of societies in the clutches of shamans, witch doctors and
priests, imposes its own artificial or make-believe realities on social,
political, and economic explanations. Leftists who appear to be
oblivious to the militarized murderous police state erected by Bush and
Obama still go out of their way to tell me how evil Ronald Reagan was
and that I must also be evil because I served in the Reagan
administration.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
It is ironic that the Republican federal judges that the right-wing
said were so desperately needed to save the Constitution are precisely
the ones who have destroyed it. Americans can be indefinitely detained
or assassinated by their government on suspicion alone without due
process, because Republicans are enamored of the “unitary executive”
theory of presidential power. The Republican Supreme Court gave private
business corporations the right to purchase the US government in the
name of free speech, because Republicans believe private interests
should prevail over public interests.<br />
<br />
It is easy to become discouraged by the clueless American majority.
However, as insightful people have remarked in the past, it only takes a
few determined people to change the world. On the other hand, in the
past governments did not have such technological advantages as they have
today. In a modern context, Paul Revere’s ride is hard to imagine. The
British would have shot him out of the saddle with a drone. How far
would Lenin have got if the Russian government had had spy drones
everywhere?<br />
<br />
Perhaps our hope today is that the government’s disinformation produces unintended consequences that overwhelm the government.<br />
<br />
Hope or no hope, truth is becoming harder to come by. During the
Vietnam war when Daniel Ellsberg leaked the Pentagon Papers, the New
York Times published them. However, during the Iraq war when a National
Security Agency whistleblower leaked the information to the New York
Times that the Bush regime was spying on Americans without obtaining
warrants from the FISA court as required by law, the New York Times told
the White House and sat on the story for a year until Bush was
reelected. The newspaper might even have turned in the whistleblower.
When the Guardian and other newspapers were threatened by the US
government, they turned on Julian Assange and WikiLeaks, the suppliers
of their headline stories.<br />
<br />
To see the fate of whistleblowers, read Sibel Edmonds’ book, <i>Classified Woman. </i>Few people are willing to undergo such wear and tear in an effort to get truth to the American people.<br />
<br />
There is another constraint on revealing truth. The human capital of
people with inside knowledge is destroyed if they speak out. Position,
contacts, invitations, income, and social life are all forfeited when an
insider becomes a dissenter or a truth-teller. Only the extremely naive
can believe that governments cannot keep conspiracies a secret,
“because someone would talk.” No one talks, because talking harms the
personal interests and human capital of the insider, and seldom does any
good.<br />
<br />
Al Jazeera was founded in the closing years of the 20th century to
provide more objective news coverage of the Middle East than the spun
news coverage of the Western media. The news organization soon fell
afoul of Washington and its Middle Eastern puppet states and was reined
in by censorship, threats, and actual physical attacks by US military
forces on its Kabul and Baghdad offices.<br />
<br />
Truth-tellers are inconvenient. Major General Antonio Taguba was
given the assignment of conducting the official inquiry into the Abu
Ghraib prisoner abuse. Instead of covering up the incidents as he was
expected to do for his third star, he produced a professional and
truthful report. It was Taguba’s career that was terminated, not the
careers of those responsible for the illegal torture of prisoners. Gen.
Taguba was instructed to resign by Gen. Richard Cody, the Vice-Chief of
Staff of the Army. When told that he was going to be investigated,
Taguba said, “I’d been in the Army 32 years by then, and it was the
first time that I thought I was in the Mafia.”<br />
<br />
General Benton K. Partin, the US Air Force’s munitions expert, wrote to Senator Trent Lott on July 30, 1995:<br />
<br />
<div style="padding-left: 30px;">
“The attached report contains conclusive
proof that the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building,
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was not caused solely by the truck bomb.
Evidence shows that the massive destruction was primarily the result of
four demolition charges placed at critical structural points at the
third floor level.”(<a href="http://whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/OK/PARTIN/ok8.htm">What Really Happened</a>)</div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px;">
<br /></div>
Partin was Commander of the Air Force Armament Technology Laboratory
and had ultimate responsibility for all nonnuclear weapons in the Air
Force. His report fell on deaf ears and disappeared down the memory
hole.<br />
<br />
So did t<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC3Se86IBAw">he report of University of Copenhagen nano-chemist Niels Harrit</a>,
a member of a team of scientists who found reacted and unreacted
nano-thermite in the dust of the World Trade Center towers. The findings
of this scientific team are known in Europe and Canada, but were not
reported by the US media. Anyone who still believes the official story
of 9/11 should listen to the interview with this accomplished scientist
or read, if able, the scientific paper.<br />
<br />
They should also read the<i> 9/11 Toronto Report: International Hearings on the Events of September 11, 2001</i>.
Hearings were held at a Canadian university in Toronto on the 10th
anniversary of the 9/11 attacks at which experts and professionals
presented evidence that the official story of 9/11 is improbable. The
hearings were conducted as if they were a grand jury proceeding before a
panel of judges consisting of accomplished scholars and Judge
Ferdinando Imposimato, the Honorary President of the Supreme Court of
Italy. Judge Imposimato cut his teeth as the “scourge of the Mafia.” His
cases involved the kidnapping and murder of Italian President Aldo
Moro, the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II, and the Mafia
assassination of Carabinieri General Carlo Alberto Della Chiesa.<br />
<br />
Judge Imposimato concluded, as did the other accomplished members of
the panel, that “the omissions of relevant evidence in the NIST
investigation and the investigation of the Pentagon, their
contradictions and the lack of independence and impartiality, as a body
controlled by the Bush administration, requires an impartial,
independent scientific investigation group.”<br />
<br />
As far as I am able to ascertain, the Toronto Hearings and the
decisions based on evidence alone by the panel of judges was never
reported in the US media. Not a single member of the US Congress raised
even one question. The American presstitutes were utterly silent.<br />
<br />
The country in which we live is one in which the available
information consists of government and corporate lies. Information in
the alternative media does not have a track record with the wider
public. Some of the sites are too loony to be taken seriously, and the
information provided by credible sites is too different from what the
public hears from the print and TV media for the public to take it
seriously. I have wondered if governments are behind the worst sites in
order to discredit alternative media.<br />
<br />
Government agencies and corporations recognize the threat posed to
their control of explanations by internet writers and hire “trolls” to
use the comment sections of sites to discredit truth-tellers. The
combination of trolls and readers who only want to hear what they want
to hear can bury the truths that try to emerge.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/jan/04/letter-kathryn-bigelow-zero-dark-thirty">Movie directors glorify torture</a> in exchange for government help for their movies.<br />
The year 2012 consisted of a continuous sequence of destructive acts
by Congress and the White House. In a final destructive act, the Senate
passed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2013. This act
continues the unconstitutional grant of power to the executive branch to
violate all rights of US citizens. In the US laws cannot take
precedence over the Constitution. Yet, we now have successive National
Defense Authorization Acts that render the Bill of Rights moot.<br />
<br />
There is no public uproar over the idea that national defense
requires that US citizens lose the protection of law that is granted by
the US Constitution. When citizens stand defenseless before their own
government, what national defense do they have?<br />
<br />
The obvious conclusion is that most Americans are indifferent to
liberty and are content with tyranny. This means that truth does not
have a healthy future in America.</div>

<br />
Antarctic sea ice set another record this past week, with the <a href="http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2012/09/16/antarctic-ice-area-sets-another-record-nsidc-is-silent/">most amount of ice ever recorded</a>
on day 256 of the calendar year (September 12 of this leap year).
Please, nobody tell the mainstream media or they might have to retract
some stories and admit they are misrepresenting scientific data.<br />
<br />
National Public Radio (NPR) published an <a href="http://www.npr.org/2012/08/22/159786793/humans-role-in-antartic-ice-melt-is-unclear">article</a>
on its website last month claiming, “Ten years ago, a piece of ice the
size of Rhode Island disintegrated and melted in the waters off
Antarctica. Two other massive ice shelves along the Antarctic Peninsula
had suffered similar fates a few years before. The events became poster
children for the effects of global warming. … There’s no question that
unusually warm air triggered the final demise of these huge chunks of
ice.”<br />
<br />
NPR failed to mention anywhere in its article that <a href="http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGES/seaice.anomaly.antarctic.png">Antarctic sea ice has been growing</a> since satellites first began measuring the ice 33 years ago and the sea ice has been above the 33-year average throughout 2012.<br />
<br />
Indeed, none of the mainstream media are covering this important story. A <a href="http://www.forbes.com/companies/google/">Google</a>
News search of the terms Antarctic, sea ice and record turns up not a
single article on the Antarctic sea ice record. Amusingly, page after
page of Google News results for Antarctic sea ice record show links to
news articles breathlessly spreading fear and warning of calamity
because Arctic sea ice recently set a 33-year low.<br />
<br />
Sea ice around one pole is shrinking while sea ice around another
pole is growing. This sure sounds like a global warming crisis to me.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update: To provide more perspective on global warming and
Antarctica, I would like to update this column with some additional
information:</strong><br />
<br />
As meteorologist Anthony Watts <a href="http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/09/10/icesat-data-shows-mass-gains-of-the-antarctic-ice-sheet-exceed-losses/">explains</a>,
new data show ice mass is accumulating on the Antarctic continent as
well as in the ocean surrounding Antarctica. The new data contradict an
assertion by global warming alarmists that the expanding Antarctic sea
ice is coming at the expense of a decline in Antarctic continental ice.<br />
<br />
The new data also add context to sensationalist media stories about
declining ice in small portions of Antarctica, such as portions of West
Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula (see <a href="http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/325365/20120409/antarctic-ice-rapidly-decreasing-researchers.htm?utm_source=google&utm_medium=editorsfeed&utm_content=Antarctica%20Ice%20Rapidly%20Depleting,%20Say%20Researchers&utm_campaign=Array">here</a>,
for example). The mainstream media frequently publish stories focusing
on ice loss in these two areas, yet the media stories rarely if ever
mention that ice is accumulating over the larger area of East Antarctica
and that the continent as a whole is gaining snow and ice mass.<br />
<br />
Interestingly, a new NASA <a href="http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/antarctica20120617.html">study</a> finds Antarctica once supported vegetation similar to that of present-day Iceland.<br />
<br />
“The southward movements of rain bands associated with a warmer
climate in the high-latitude southern hemisphere made the margins of
Antarctica less like a polar desert, and more like present-day Iceland,”
a co-author of the NASA study reports.<br />

<br />
Key points relayed by the ironically named "ScienceBlog" are the legal ramifications of geoengineering and the unavoidable fact that some groups may be adversely affected by the practice.
<br />
<br />
<h1 class="title">
<a href="http://scienceblog.com/58878/how-to-regulate-geo-engineering-efforts-to-fight-climate-change/" rel="bookmark" title="How to regulate geo-engineering efforts to fight climate change">How to regulate geo-engineering efforts to fight climate change</a></h1>
<div>
<div>
<div>
<div class="lead">
With policymakers and political leaders increasingly
unable to combat global climate change, more scientists are considering
the use of manual manipulation of the environment to slow warming’s
damage to the planet.</div>
<a href="http://maxcdn.scienceblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/carlson_jonathan-150.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="carlson jonathan 150 How to regulate geo engineering efforts to fight climate change" border="0" class="alignright size-full wp-image-58879" height="193" src="http://maxcdn.scienceblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/carlson_jonathan-150.jpg" title="How to regulate geo engineering efforts to fight climate change" width="150" /></a>But a University of Iowa law professor believes the legal
ramifications of this kind of geo-engineering need to be thought through
in advance and a global governance structure put in place soon to
oversee these efforts. “Geo-engineering is a global concern that will
have climate and weather impacts in all countries, and it is virtually
inevitable that some group of people will be harmed in the process,”
says Jon Carlson, professor of law at the UI <a href="http://www.law.uiowa.edu/" target="_blank">College of Law</a>.
“The international community must act now to take charge of this
activity to ensure that it is studied and deployed with full attention
to the rights and interests of everyone on the planet.”<br />
<br />
Carlson
is an expert in environmental law and international law who believes
geo-engineering is inevitable and will likely happen sooner than later.
He considers the issue in a new paper, “Reining in Phaethon’s Chariot:
Principles for the Governance of Geoengineering,” published in the
current issue of the journal <i>Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems</i>.
His co-author, Adam D.K. Abelkop, is a UI law graduate now in the
doctoral program at the Indiana University School of Public Health and
Environmental Affairs.<br />
<br />
Carlson says the concept of geo-engineering goes back to at least the
19th century, when scientists proposed seeding clouds to increase
rainfall. Today, scientists have a long list of geo-engineering ideas
that could be used to slow the impact of global warming while other
methods are developed to actually mitigate the damage. Some ideas are
simple and locally focused, such as planting new forests to absorb
carbon dioxide, or painting roofs and paved areas white to reduce solar
heat absorption.<br />
<br />
Others are more complex and controversial—manually cooling oceans so
carbon dioxide-laden water sinks to the bottom more quickly; building
space-based shields and mirrors to deflect solar heat from the planet;
or injecting chemicals like hydrogen sulfide or sulfur dioxide into the
upper atmosphere, creating an aerosol shield that reduces the amount of
solar heat reaching the earth’s surface.<br />
<br />
But Carlson says geo-engineering comes with obvious international
legal implications because no one country can implement its own
geo-engineering plan without causing weather or climate changes in other
countries. There’s also the law of unintended consequences, because
while many geo-engineering concepts have proved hopeful in the lab,
nobody knows what will happen when actually put into practice. For
instance, Carlson says that while manually cooling the ocean may be seen
as a generally good idea, what impact will that have on farmers in
India whose crops depend on rain from heat-induced tropical monsoons?<br />
<br />
To address these issues, Carlson urges the creation of an
international governing body separate from any existing organization
that approves or rejects geo-engineering plans, taking into
consideration the best interests of people and countries around the
world. He says any legal regimen involving geo-engineering activities
should require they be publicly announced in the planning stage, and all
countries are notified so they have a voice in deliberations.<br />
<br />
As a model for his oversight body, Carlson suggests the International
Monetary Fund (IMF). Like the IMF, his proposed organization would give
all countries a place during discussions, but decisions would be made
by a relatively small group of directors, each of which has a weighted
vote that’s based on their country’s greenhouse gas production. That is,
countries that produce more greenhouse gases will spend more money to
combat global climate change, and so will have more votes.<br />
Carlson’s proposed body would oversee a compensation fund to help
people and countries that are harmed by other country’s approved
geo-engineering activities, or by unseen effects of those activities.</div>

<b>The followng is a translation of the spoken word from German to English from the 2007 TV News Video Below</b>:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>News Anchor</b>
: “Suddenly the radar registers the presence of a cloud, but it’s not
clear, how this happened? The answer seems to be that this was the
result of a military experiment. What are these mysterious trails and
what is their purpose? We will try to find out…</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Narrator:</b>
The military planes of the German Federal army are manipulating our
climate. This is what the weather researchers are presuming and their
suspicions are confirmed. Sinister clouds up to 350 km in length appear
all of a sudden on the radar, but only on the meteorological radar. The
first time it happened was the Summer of 2005 and then in March, 2006.
The German Army has admitted having war exercises towards the borders
with the Netherlands.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>For Meteorologist, Karsten Brandt this is the answer to the enigma:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
”
The Federal army is manipulating the meteorological maps. We can say
with 97% certainty that we have on our hands “chemical trails” comprised
of fine dust <span style="text-decoration: underline;">containing polymers and metals</span>
used to disrupt radar signals. This is their main purpose but I was
surprised that this artificial cloud was so wide-spread. The radar
images are stunning considering the needed tons of dispersed elements,
although the Army claims that only small amounts of material were
propagated. The military heads claim that the substances used are not
harmful . “</div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Narrator: </b>The records report the emissions of chemical trails are observed at<span style="text-decoration: underline;"> low altitudes</span>.<b> </b>In
the United States of America there are protest after protest for many
years now, against these military operations and now people are
mobilizing in Germany as well. For example <b>Johannes Remmel of the Greens:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<b>Remmel</b>:
“It’s obvious that enormous regions are being polluted with clandestine
actions, but all of this has to be made public. The government must
provide explanations to the unsuspecting population.”</div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<b>Brandt: </b>“From
our observations we can conclude that they fly over the regions of
Westfalia, Bielefeld, the Ruhr zone to Saxony and Hamburg forming a
really dense layer of artificial cloud-cover.”</div>
<div style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Narrator: </b>
After the first discovery Karsten Brandt filed a legal challenge
against responsible parties involved in secret weather manipulation
based on his careful verifications and data gathered by radar through
which he documented every anomalous cloud formation.</div>

tech devices, while driving, while walking, while shopping, while in
groups of friends, while in restaurants, while waiting in doctor offices
and hospitals, while sitting in toilets – everywhere. While connected
electronically, they are inattentive to and disconnected from physical
reality.</i><br />
<br />
People have been steadily manipulated to become technology addicted. Technology is the opiate of the masses.<br />
<br />
This results is <b>technology servitude.</b> I am
referring to a loss of personal freedom and independence because of
uncontrolled consumption of many kinds of devices that eat up time and
money. Most people do not use independent, critical thinking to
question whether their quality of life is actually improved by the
incessant use of technology products that are marketed more aggressively
than just about anything else.<br />
<br />
I for one have worked successfully to greatly limit my use of
technological innovations, to keep myself as unconnected as possible and
to maximize my privacy and independence. I do not have a smart phone; I
do not participate in social networking; I do not have any Apple
product, nothing like an IPod, IPad and similar devices. I have never
used Twitter or anything similar, or sent a text message. I do use the
Internet judiciously on an old laptop. Email is good and more than
enough for me. I very rarely use an old cell phone.<br />
<br />
So what have I gained? Time, privacy and no obsession to constantly
be in touch, connected, available, informed about others. Call me old
fashioned, but I feel a lot more in control of my life than most people
that I see conspicuously using their many modern devices. They have
lost freedom and do not seem to care about that. When I take my daily
long walks I have no device turned on, no desire to communicate, nor to
listen to music; I want to be in the moment, only sensing the world
around me, unfiltered and uninterrupted by any technology.<br />
<br />
I am not hooked by advancing technology, not tethered to constantly
improved devices, not curious about the next generation of highly priced
but really unnecessary products, not logged on and online all the
time. I have no apps or games.<br />
<br />
Those who think interactions with people through technology devices
are the real thing have lost their sanity. Technology limits and
distorts human, social interactions. Worse yet, people have lost
ability and talent for actually conversing to people face to face,
responding to nonverbal nuances, or through intimate writing with more
than just a few words.<br />
<br />
Consider these <a href="http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/features/when-technology-addiction-takes-over-your-life" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">findings</a>:
“Researchers from the University of Glasgow found that half of the
study participants reported checking their email once an hour, while
some individuals check up to 30 to 40 times an hour. An AOL study
revealed that 59 percent of PDA users check every single time an email
arrives and 83 percent check email every day on vacation.”<br />
<br />
A <a href="http://www.sodahead.com/living/public-opinion-suggests-internet-addiction-is-a-problem/question-2464081/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">2010 survey</a> found that 61 percent of Americans (even higher among young people) say they are addicted to the Internet. <a href="http://theworldunplugged.wordpress.com/addictions/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Another survey</a> reported that “addicted” was the word most commonly used by people to describe their relationship to technology. <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2012/feb/03/twitter-resist-cigarettes-alcohol-study?newsfeed=true" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">One study</a> found that people had a harder time resisting the allure of social media than they did for sex, sleep, cigarettes, and alcohol.<br />
<br />
A recent <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/01/business/some-companies-seek-to-wean-employees-from-their-smartphones.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20130101&_r=0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">study</a>
by the Pew Research Center ’s Internet and American Life Project found
that 44 percent of cellphone owners had slept with their phone next to
their bed. Worse, 67 percent had experienced “phantom rings,” checking
their phone even when it was not ringing or vibrating. A little good
news: the proportion of cellphone owners who said they “could live
without it” increased to 37 percent from 29 percent in 2006.<br />
<br />
The main goal of technology companies is to get you to spend more
money and time on their products, not to actually improve your quality
of life. They have successfully created a cultural disease that has
gone viral. Consumers willingly surrender their freedom, money and time
in pursuit of what exactly? To keep pace with their peers? To appear
modern and sophisticated? To not miss out on the latest information?
To stay plugged in? I do not get it.<br />
<br />
I see people as trapped in a pathological relationship with
time-sucking technology, where they serve technology more than
technology serves them. I call this technology servitude. Richard
Fernandez, an executive coach at Google <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/24/technology/silicon-valley-worries-about-addiction-to-devices.html?pagewanted=all" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">acknowledged</a>
that “we can be swept away by our technologies.” Welcome to virtual
living. To break the grand digital delusion people must consider how
lives long ago could be terrific without all the technology regalia
pushed today.<br />
<br />
What is a healthy use of technology devices? That is the crucial
question. Who is really in charge of my life? That is what people need
to ask themselves if they are to have any chance of breaking up
delusions about their use of technology. When they can live happily
without using so much technology for a day or a week, then they can
regain control and personal freedom and become the master of
technology. Discover what there is to enjoy in life that is free of
technology. Mae West is famous for proclaiming the wisdom that “too
much of a good thing is wonderful.” Time to discover that it does not
work for technology.<br />
<br />
As to globalization of technology servitude: Is this worldwide
progress what is best for humanity? Is downloaded global dehumanization
being sucked up? Time for global digital dieting.<br />
