Free-Market Analysis: No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission that Killed Osama Bin Laden, by Mark Owen with Kevin Maurer, should probably be withdrawn for being a lie. When Clifford Irving famously concocted a tale about Howard Hughes he ended up serving 19 months in the slammer. But "Owen" will laugh all the way to the bank.

We just finished writing about this book the other day. We explained how eyewitness accounts entirely contradict the official narrative. We reported on a recent Infowars interview that reinforced what many others have reported, that bin Laden died ten years ago.

One only has to look at the videos that bin Laden supposedly released in the 2000s. All are still pictures of him, rather than video, and every one can probably be proven NOT to be him.

He was dying of Marfan syndrome a decade ago; his death was reported multiple times; he made not a single confirmable appearance after, say, 2000.

The caves from which he supposedly engineered his takedown of the World Trade Towers were never found. They conveniently dropped down the memory hole. Here's an article we posted just the other day on this book and the possibility it would be made into a movie:

The terror mastermind was hit in the head when he looked out of his bedroom door in the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, according to the book – a copy of which has been obtained by The Associated Press.

The former Navy SEAL writing under the pseudonym Mark Owen in No Easy Day, says he was directly behind the "point man" as they made their way up the stairs of the two-storey house.

"Less than five steps" from the top of the stairs, he heard "suppressed" gunfire: "BOP. BOP." The point man had seen a "man peeking out of the door" on the right side of the hallway.

The author writes that bin Laden ducked back into his bedroom and the SEALs followed, only to find the terrorist crumpled on the floor in a pool of blood with a hole visible on the right side of his head and two women wailing over his body.

Owen says the point man pulled the two women out of the way and shoved them into a corner and he and the other SEALs shot him several times until he lay motionless.

"(We) trained our lasers on his chest and fired several rounds. The bullets tore into him, slamming his body into the floor until he was motionless," Owen writes according to a copy of the book obtained by the Huffington Post.

The SEALs later found two weapons stored by the doorway, untouched, the author said. Neither weapon was loaded.

"He hadn't even prepared a defense. He had no intention of fighting. He asked his followers for decades to wear suicide vests or fly planes into buildings, but didn't even pick up his weapon," Owen writes.
Bin Laden was apparently wearing a white t-shirt, loose tan trousers and a tunic.

The power elite that pursues wars like the Afghan war uses dominant social themes to promote world government. It seeks to frighten people into giving up wealth and power to globalist institutions. But these are large and simplistic promotions that are not easily unraveled.

The bin Laden promotion is worrisome because it is so obviously false and because so many people know it is. There is very little gray here – and Money Power usually manipulates shades of gray easily.

In other words, as the Internet reveals more and more of their plans, they are growing desperate. Or at least it seems they don't care anymore. You know, Bin Laden hasn't been sighted for a decade. His vaunted caves were never found. Plenty of respectable people have indicated he died around the turn of the century.

As far as the "raid" goes ... No photos of the body have emerged, not one. No photos of an aged bin Laden. No DNA. No body.

Nothing. Nada. Zip.

All we get is the ongoing attrition of the SEAL unit that was involved in the episode. And this is more like a mob hit where they rub out some participants as a warning to others.

And then, of course, there is the release of the book, which is obviously supposed to give President Barack Obama an election lift. Just like a movie about the killing, "Zero Dark Thirty."

And now, of course, Steven Spielberg is supposedly thinking of optioning the book.
The book is being presented (on purpose) in a counterintuitive way. We learn, for instance, that No Easy Daycontradicts "the official version of events." But no one will comment on the differences (maybe because neither scenario occurred).

We also learn that bin Laden's body was treated with contempt by SEALs who sat on him in the cramped helicopter.

We learn the SEALs "are not fans" of President Barack Obama.

We learn that Vice President Joe Biden reminds SEALs of "someone's drunken uncle at Christmas dinner."
And, of course, we learn, as a final touch, that officials at the CIA are thinking of suing the author for not allowing the book to undergo a "formal review."

Conclusion: But, hey, that's understandable. It was probably written in the Pentagon.

Pentagon says it has no records of bin Laden's death; CIA hasn't answered open records request

WASHINGTON - The hunt for Osama bin Laden took nearly a decade. It could take even longer to uncover U.S. government emails, planning reports, photographs and more that would shed light on how an elite team of Navy SEALs killed the world's most wanted terrorist.

Ten months after that electrifying covert mission, an administration that has pledged to be the most transparent in American history is refusing to release documents about it under the Freedom of Information Act. The records could provide insights into how bin Laden died, how the U.S. verified his identity and how it decided to bury him at sea, as well as photographs taken during and after the May 2011 raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

Government officials have openly discussed details of the mission in speeches, interviews and television appearances, but the administration won't disclose records that would confirm their narrative of that fateful night. The Obama administration has not said even where in Washington's bureaucracy all the documents might be stored.

Requests for bin Laden materials were among the most significant of any filed last year under the open records law, which compels the government to turn over copies of federal records for free or at little cost. Anyone who seeks information under the law is generally supposed to get it unless disclosure would hurt national security, violate personal privacy or expose business secrets or confidential decision-making. The law has been the focus of extra attention since Sunday, the start of Sunshine Week, when news organizations promote open government and freedom of information.

Citing the law, The Associated Press asked for files about the raid in more than 20 separate requests, mostly submitted the day after bin Laden's death. The Pentagon told the AP this month it could not locate any photographs or video taken during the raid or showing bin Laden's body. It also said it could not find any images of bin Laden's body on the Navy aircraft carrier where the al-Qaida leader's body was taken.

Militants have taken control of several areas in southern Yemen during the six-month uprising pressing for President Ali Abdullah Saleh's resignation. – Voice of America

Free-Market Analysis: How many wars are too many? Unnoticed largely in the press of larger events and obviously downplayed by the controlled Western media, the US and its allies are pursuing yet ANOTHER aggressive, illegal war – this one in Yemen.

How aggressive is it? It is a full-on conflict that has reportedly seen SEALS come ashore on a regular basis at night to engage tribal fighters in Abyan province, this newspaper has learned from sources in Yemen itself that are in a position to know.

The US is now involved in almost innumerable wars in the Middle East, but most have been reported in one way or another. This one has not been fully vetted as it continues to expand. Unconstitutional, secretive and expanding in scope and violence, it includes the massive, violent projection of US naval, air and Special Forces into parts of Yemen.

It is no skirmish but a coordinated, daily attack against hostile forces that supposedly include a number of "al Qaeda" (whatever they are) protected by local tribesman in the south of Yemen who have rebelled against President Ali Abdullah Saleh's regime. It involves considerable military effort and expenditure of what must be a US task force that includes sea, air and land power.

Despite the new war's massive scope, the major media and Congress remain culpably silent on this latest war (is there any other word for it?) even though such a massive military campaign must be well known to top power players in the media, in politics, in the intelligence community and obviously in the Pentagon itself.

This war is at least two months old, but its violence and aggressiveness have remained unreported until now. It has already resulted in the death of numerous civilians, including women and children. These deaths have gone unreported as well.

It is true that there have been a number of GENERAL reports on this new conflict but the scope and aggressiveness of this new war remain unstated. Those who live in Yemen – some 25 million people – are aware that the US is operating with impunity on Yemen's Southern flank, but the rest of the world does not know. Those in positions of power are obviously too frightened or too careful to comment.

The evil of unrestrained violence projected from what was once a US republic continues to expand; the evil of secret wars, secret violence, secret civilian deaths is a corrosive acid that eats away at civil society until the citizens of the West themselves will be exposed to the ruin they are currently visiting on other countries. The danger is not just to "terrorists" overseas but also to anyone who wishes to retain what is left of Western civilization.

In fact, the rights of those who reside in the US republic continue to degrade as the US and the West continue to pursue a phony war on terror. It is no accident in our view, but seemingly a malicious policy pursued by the world's top banking families – the power elite – in hopes of abrogating what remain of the rights of US citizens to understand and shape the military and political policies of their own country.

It is as well an abrogation of the US Constitution to regularly invade another country's shores without Congress holding a debate and declaring war. This is not merely a skirmish or "fly over" but a full-on military confrontation and it is one that has larger ramifications economically.

Helicopter Shootdown in Afghanistan Hits Navy SEALs

The shooting down of a US Chinook helicopter early Saturday morning in Afghanistan killed 38 soldiers, including 30 Americans and eight Afghans. Among the dead were 22 Navy SEALs, an elite special forces squad. Seven helicopter crew members and air combat controllers, a dog handler, seven Afghan soldiers and an Afghan interpreter died along with the SEALs.

According to press reports citing unnamed military sources, the SEALs were called in for a rescue operation after a small unit of US special forces, from the Army Rangers, was pinned down by Taliban fighters. The SEALs flew in on the helicopter and drove off the Taliban attackers, killing eight of them. They had just reboarded the helicopter for the return flight when a rocket-propelled grenade or surface-to-air missile hit the Chinook and destroyed it in mid-air.

A conflicting account of the attack, also citing military sources, suggested that the Taliban fighters were killed after the helicopter was shot down, not before, when a second US helicopter-borne special forces unit landed, attacked the Taliban, and then sought to retrieve the bodies and the wreckage.

Saturday’s disaster reproduces exactly the pattern of the previous worst tactical defeat for US forces in the war, when a US helicopter was shot down in Kunar province in June 2005, killing 16 soldiers. Those troops were also engaged in a rescue operation for a smaller group of special forces who were surrounded and ultimately killed by Taliban fighters.

Accounts by residents of the Tangi valley in Wardak province, interviewed by McClatchy News Service, contradicted both military versions. They said that the helicopter was shot down before it could land, by Taliban fighters who had been given advance warning of the night raid and were on the alert against it.

The Los Angeles Times reported, “In a statement Saturday, the Taliban claimed its fighters had ambushed Western troops after being tipped off to an imminent night raid in the district. If true, that would amount to a devastating breach of U.S. operational security. The Taliban statement, from spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid, was unusually specific in some of its details, including the number of troops killed—even before Afghan officials released the number.”

Whatever the exact sequence of events, the military disaster—the single worst loss of life for US forces in the 10 years of warfare—was a direct outcome of the escalation of special forces operations throughout Afghanistan.

Some 10,000 of the 100,000 US troops deployed in Afghanistan are drawn from various special forces commands. They serve as the spearhead of what the media call “counterterrorism” operations—although the campaign would be better described as the systematic assassination of suspected opponents of the US occupation and its stooge president, Hamid Karzai.

The Obama administration is investing more and more heavily in such actions to prop up the unpopular Karzai regime and deplete the ranks of the guerrilla forces fighting the US-NATO occupation. In the second quarter of the year, according to NATO figures, special forces troops conducted 2,832 night raids, double the number during the same period a year ago, killing 834 insurgents and capturing 2,941.

Officials in Kabul and Washington issued statements denying that the incident represented a significant tactical or strategic setback for the US military intervention in Afghanistan, but this posture is belied by the scale of the disaster—the loss of nearly 10 percent of the total manpower of SEAL Team 6, estimated in press accounts as 250 to 300 men.

The losses were the greatest inflicted on Navy special forces since World War II. Each commando is the product of a five-year training program, making the losses that much more difficult to replace. SEAL Team 6 was the unit that carried out the assassination of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan May 2, though US officials claimed that none of those involved in that attack was killed in Wardak.

The location of the disaster also demonstrates the deepening crisis of the US occupation regime. Wardak province borders on Kabul, and the Tangi Valley has served as a key infiltration route into the capital region for Taliban fighters.

Despite the escalation of the US military effort over the past three years, since Obama entered the White House, the anti-occupation forces remain well entrenched in Wardak, only 50 miles from Kabul.

The Mysterious Death of Osama bin Laden: Creating Evidence Where There Is None

The New Yorker  has published a story planted on Nicholas Schmidle by unidentified sources who claim to be familiar with the alleged operation that murdered Osama bin Laden.

There is no useful information in the story. Its purpose seems simply to explain away or cover up holes in the original story, principally why did the Seals murder an unarmed, unresisting Osama bin Laden whose capture would have resulted in a goldmine of terrorist information and whose show trial would have rescued the government’s crumbling 9/11 story?

The gullible Schmidle tells us: “‘There was never any question of detaining or capturing him--it wasn’t a split-second decision. No one wanted detainees,’ the special-operations officer told me.” In other words, the SEALs murdered bin Laden, because the US government did not want detainees, not because trigger-happy stupid SEALs destroyed a font of terrorist information.

Why did the SEALS dump bin Laden’s body in the ocean instead of producing the evidence to a skeptical world?

No real explanation, just that SEALS had done the same thing to other victims. Schmidle writes: “All along, the SEALs had planned to dump bin Laden’s corpse into the sea--a blunt way of ending the bin Laden myth.” But before they did so, the US checked with an unidentified Saudi intelligence operative, who allegedly replied, “Your plan sounds like a good one.”

I mean, really.

After all of Sy Hersh’s New Yorker revelations of US government lies and plots, one can understand the pressure that might have been applied to the New Yorker to publish this fairy tale. But what is extraordinary is that there was a real story that Schmidle and the New Yorker could have investigated.

In the immediate aftermath of bin Laden’s alleged murder by the SEALs, Pakistani TV interviewed the next door neighbor to bin Laden’s alleged compound. Someone supplied the video with an English translation running at the bottom of the video. According to the translation, the next door neighbor, Mr. Bashir, said that he watched the entire operation from the roof of his house. There were 3 helicopters. Only 1 landed. About a dozen men got out and entered the house. They shortly returned and boarded the helicopter. When the helicopter lifted off it exploded, killing all aboard. Mr. Bashir reports seeing bodies and pieces of bodies all over.

The US government acknowledges that it lost a helicopter, but claims no one was hurt. Obviously, as there were no further landings, if everyone was killed as Mr. Bashir reports, there was no body to be dumped into the ocean.

A real investigation would begin with Mr. Bashir’s interview. Was he actually saying what the English translation reported? I have not been able to find the interview with the English translation, but I believe this is the interview that I saw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0vo-L3VACs 

Surely there is a qualified interpreter who can tell us what Mr. Bashir is saying. If the English translation that I saw is not a hoax, then we are presented with a story totally different from the one the government told us and repeated again through Mr. Schmidle.

If the English translation of Mr. Bashir’s interview is correct, one would think that there would be some interest on the part of US news organizations and on the part of the intelligence committees in Congress to question Mr. Bashir and his neighbors, many of whom are also interviewed on Pakistani TV saying that they have lived in Abbottabad all their lives and are absolutely certain that Osama bin Laden was not among them. 

Mr. Schmidle goes to lengths to describe the SEALs’ weapons, although his story makes it clear that no weapons were needed as bin Laden is described as “unarmed” and undefended. The “startled” bin Laden didn’t even hear the helicopters or all the SEALs coming up the stairs. In addition to all his fatal illnesses which most experts believe killed him a decade ago, bin Laden must have been deaf as neighbors report that the sound of the helicopters was “intense.”

When Pakistanis on the scene in Abbottabad report a totally different story from the one that reaches us second and third hand from unidentified operatives speaking to reporters in the US who have never been to Abbottabad, shouldn’t someone qualified look into the story?

Report: Pakistan ends US use of base for drone attacks

Pakistan has stopped the United States from using an air base in the southwest of the country to launch drone strikes against militant groups, the defense minister was quoted as saying, as ties remain strained between the two countries. 

Pakistan has long publicly opposed the missile attacks as a violation of its sovereignty, but has in private given support including intelligence to help target members of al-Qaida and the Taliban in the northwest region along the Afghan border.

The Financial Times quoted Defense Minister Ahmed Mukhtar as saying that Pakistan had ended U.S. drone flights out of Shamsi base in the southwestern province of Baluchistan, long reported to have been used for the covert war against militants.

"No U.S. flights are taking place from Shamsi any longer. If there have to be flights from the base, it will only be Pakistani flights," Mukhtar told the newspaper.

Ties between the countries, strained since the killing of two Pakistanis by a CIA agent in January, suffered a further setback after Navy SEALs killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden in a secret raid last month that Pakistani officials said further breached its sovereignty.

If authentic, the killing of Osama bin Laden would stand as a monumental achievement for the Obama presidency. But in actuality, this staged event more closely resembles the propaganda campaigns surrounding U.S. soldiers Jessica Lynch and Pat Tillman. Unforgivably, both of these individuals were used for propaganda purposes by the Bush administration to create feel-good moments of patriotism.

Yet again, Barack Obama is reading from the Bush-Cheney playbook in regard to chicanery. According to the original story told by Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan, two dozen elite Navy Seals—with shoot-to-kill orders—stormed bin Laden’s home in Abbottabad and engaged in a chaotic fire-fight that lasted 20 minutes.

Once the gunmen reached the third floor, Brennan claimed, they encountered an armed bin Laden hiding behind a female human shield, presumed to be his wife. “He was firing behind her,” Brennan stated.

Brennan, who claimed to have watched the entire episode live, in real-time transmitted via helmet mini cameras, boasted, “He [bin Laden] was engaged in a fire-fight with those that entered the area . . . bin Laden went down firing at the Navy Seals.”

Yet, by the next day, White House officials backtracked, admitting that bin Laden, or the man they are calling bin Laden, had not been armed and no wife or any other woman was used as a human shield.
Still, White House spokesman Jay Carney insisted bin Laden “resisted arrest without a weapon.”
Supposedly frail and sickened by kidney failure, how could a 53-year-old man resist 24 of the best trained Seals in the U.S. Navy?

Of all the countless media reports and tours of “bin Laden’s home,” why didn’t any of them mention a dialysis machine on the premises?

Allegedly, bin Laden—portrayed as the world’s most dangerous terrorist—was the last person encountered inside the compound. He’d conceivably heard helicopters, explosions, gunfire and screams, yet didn’t pick up a gun to defend himself?

Another added element of strangeness involves the Obama administration’s refusal to identify precisely whom the Seals battled for 20 minutes in the intense fire-fight, especially since they admitted no guards stood outside the mansion.

It’s now been proven that Brennan lied about bin Laden going down in a blaze of glory. Either a 20-minute gun battle ensued, or it didn’t. Plus, it’s also been established that only one man present at the compound, a courier, carried a weapon, and he was immediately shot.

During a May 2 speech, Obama asserted that bin Laden had been “captured, then killed.” However, if bin Laden had been in U.S. custody, what did he say, if anything?

He had been, after all, America’s premier bogeyman for nearly a decade. To cover this quandary, CIA Director Leon Panetta contradicted Obama by saying that bin Laden had been killed instantly.

To further increase the dramatics of this event, the White House released an iconic photograph of Obama’s entire Cabinet purportedly watching the fire-fight unfold. So there is no mistake, Seattle’s King 5 TV described the scene: “Faces of the president’s Cabinet members showed intense anxiety and shock as they kept close watch over the fire-fight in Pakistan that led to Osama bin Laden’s death.”
Initially, reports actually had Obama seeing bin Laden being shot through the eye. For her part,

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is seen with a hand held over her mouth, gulping with apparent panic at what she’s seeing. Clinton noted, “Those were 38 of the most intense minutes.”

But Panetta yet again revealed the truth about what transpired. “There was a 25 minute blackout during which the live feed from the camera mounted on the helmets of the U.S. Special Forces was cut off.”
Did White House officials stage the entire photo-op? Did all those in attendance stare at a blank screen while making it appear they were witnessing an actual assassination? Afterward, Mrs. Clinton blamed her melodramatic reaction on a “spring allergic cough.”

As AFP chronicled in the May 9 and 16 edition, there is a plethora of evidence indicating that bin Laden died some 10 years ago, and that the operation on May 1 was merely an attempt to revive a failing presidency.

Or, as antiwar protester Cindy Sheehan so adroitly emphasized, “I am sorry, but if you believe the newest death of bin Laden, you’re stupid. Just think for yourself . . . this lying, murderous empire can only exist with your brainwashed consent—put your flags away and think.”

Citing security risks, Pentagon asks nation to 'move on' from bin Laden

WASHINGTON (RNN) - Top Pentagon officials expressed concern Wednesday over the sensitive details revealed to the media about the assault that killed former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.

"It is time to stop talking, and we have talked far too much about this. We need to move on," said Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen during a joint news briefing with Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates. "It's a story that if we don't stop talking, it will never end, and it needs to."
Gates acknowledged that an agreement between the Pentagon and the White House that no one would disclose sensitive operational details of the raid had been breeched, putting the military's ability to carry out future high-level operations at risk.

"We're close to jeopardizing this precious capability that we have, and we can't do that," Mullen said.
"This fight isn't over."

Mullen went as far as calling out retired members of the military who had spoken to the media.
Gates said he spoke with members of Navy SEAL Team 6, who carried out the operation. The soldiers felt their lives were put in danger by the release of so much information, he said.

"They did express concern not just for themselves but for their families," he said.

Gates and Mullen both expressed the belief that the upper echelons Pakistani government did not know the bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, was hiding in their country.
